The British Science Association (BSA) is a charity, founded in 1831.

Their vision is of a world where science is at the heart of society and culture. Their mission is to support, grow and diversify the community of people interested and involved in science; and to strengthen their influence over science’s direction and place in society.

We are very proud of our long creative relationship with the organisation, having worked across many projects including The British Science Festival, National Science and Education Week and CREST Awards.

We were very excited when asked to redesign and project manage the website for The British Science Association the UK’s nationwide, open membership organisation, which provides opportunities for people of all ages to learn about, discuss and challenge the sciences and their implications.

We oversaw the website design, creation and development of key site features for each department’s section, from the user account system, to events dairy and interactive mapping, all planned out through clear visual walkthroughs.

Next was a production plan for each section of the site, then development, build and project management of each area with the development team partners at ateneatech through to launch.

The British Science Association site utilises a drupal cms as its base, with bespoke events diary, blog, user account systems, national science events database, online magazine area for People and Science, and user post / comments facility.

It’s also the online home to the British Science Festival, National Science and Engineering Week and Science communication conference.
